Privacy Policy

Halvo is a product of KCUBED Consulting (Pty) Ltd · Last updated: 6 October 2026

KCUBED Consulting (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”), trading as Halvo, provides an online tool that helps small businesses manage their customers, quotes, invoices and day-to-day admin, including sending quotes and invoices to their own customers by email and WhatsApp. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, and what your rights are. This policy covers the Halvo application at halvo.online and our website at halvo.co.za. We follow South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Who is who

2. Information we handle

3. How we use it

We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share one business’s information with another business.

4. WhatsApp and Meta

Businesses can connect their own WhatsApp Business account to Halvo through Meta’s official sign-up process. Information we receive from Meta (“Platform Data”) is used only to send the business’s documents from its own WhatsApp number, show delivery status, and record replies, for that business and nobody else. WhatsApp and Facebook are services of Meta Platforms, Inc., which handles messages on its own platform under its own terms and privacy policy. A business can disconnect WhatsApp at any time in its settings, after which we stop receiving updates and delete the stored access token.

5. Who we share it with

Some of these providers (including Meta) may process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on providers that protect personal information to a similar standard.

6. How we protect it

Access is limited to signed-in users of the relevant business and our authorised staff. Each business can only see its own records. Access tokens for WhatsApp accounts connected through our sign-up are stored in encrypted form. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no system is completely risk-free, so please tell us straight away if you suspect a problem.

7. How long we keep it

We keep information while the business’s account is active and for as long as needed afterwards for legal, tax and accounting reasons or to resolve disputes. After that it is deleted or anonymised. WhatsApp access tokens are deleted when a business disconnects WhatsApp.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to see it, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may object to its use. If your information was entered by a business that sent you a quote or invoice, we will pass your request to that business or help them act on it.

If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

9. Deleting your data

To have your personal information deleted, or to ask that a business stop messaging you on WhatsApp:

  1. Email team@halvo.co.za with the subject “Delete my data”, and include the email address or phone number your information is held under.
  2. We will confirm your request, verify it is really you, and delete the information (or ask the responsible business to), unless we must keep something by law. We aim to respond within 30 days.

You can also reply to any WhatsApp message to tell the business you don’t want further messages.

10. Cookies

We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. When a business connects WhatsApp, Meta’s sign-in window may set its own cookies, which are covered by Meta’s policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the latest version.
